Chateau Lafite Rothschild 2005

Regular price $2,215.00

🇫🇷 Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Paulliac, FR 2005🍷 The name Lafite has long been synonymous with quality.  The vineyards date back to 1234 with Gombaud de Lafite, the abbot of the Vertheuil Monastery, just north of Paulliac.  The Segur family is credited with organizing and planting the vineyard.  The estate grew to acclaim in the 18th century when english royalty and noblemen developed an affinity for the wine.  The wine became popular in France in later years. Even Thomas Jefferson toured the vineyards when he spent time in 1778.  The 2005 vintage in Bordeaux was one of the best in recent years, resulting in a wine that is extremely complex with loads of blackberry, mint, mineral undertones, dark chocolate, cigar box, and floral notes.  Powerful and robust on the palate, the 2005 can age for another 20-30 years.🍴Dry aged ribeye with herb butter and gratin.
